Hazen is a Maryland-based cinematographer, 1st AC, and camera operator skilled in using motivated practical lighting techniques with clean and vintage lenses to capture authentic scenes. He has extensive experience with cinema cameras like the Sony Burano, FX6, FX3, RED V-Raptor XL, RED KOMODO 6K, The Canon R5C, The Canon C500 MK II, The Kenefinity MAVO Edge 8k, and DJI Ronin 4D. His favorite lenses are Cooke S4 Minis and NISI Athena Primes for sharp, clean images. Hazen has worked on indie feature films, award-winning shorts, documentaries, and a Nike Yardrunner 6.0 commercial photoshoot. As 1st AC, he uses the Tilta Nucleus-M & the Atomos Shinobi 7 for precise focus pulling. A Stevenson University Film & Moving Image graduate, he spent two years as a commercial videographer at Gramophone in Timonium, MD, shooting and editing product reviews and client home renovation tours. He now freelances as DP, 1st AC, and Camera Operator in the DMV area.
