Who is Hazen?

Hazen is a Maryland-based cinematographer, 1st AC, and producer. He specializes in crafting deep narratives that explore philosophical, sociological, and ethical dilemmas in modern society. Hazen has extensive experience with a variety of cinema cameras, including the Sony Burano, The Sony FX6 and FX9, the RED V-Raptor XL, the RED KOMODO 6k, and the DJI Ronin 4D 4-Axis Cinema Camera. Hazen has worked on independent feature films, award winning short films, documentaries, & a commercial branded photoshoot for Nike. As a 1st AC, Hazen uses the Tilta Nucleus-M Wireless Lens Control System for precise focus pulling.

A graduate of Stevenson University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Film and Moving Image, Hazen has produced and shot award winning short films, documentaries, and two independent feature films.

After college, Hazen spent two years working as a full-time commercial videographer for Gramophone, a luxury home automation company in Timonium, MD. In this role, he was responsible for shooting and editing product reviews for high-end speakers, TVs, and headphones, as well as client house tours.

Currently, Hazen works as a freelance DP, 1st AC, and Camera Operator in the DMV area.
